Temple Run can be played on various platforms including iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android and the game is available for free download through the iTunes store. One of the key features of this game is the fact that it takes less than a minute to understand the instructions.
The protagonist will be running constantly in the game and the player can choose to make the protagonist jump, slide, or run on the either sides. All it takes to perform these actions are finger swipes and screen tilting. The score in the game is calculated by the distance the protagonist travels. This is while staying alive along with the time passed.
Another feature in the game is an achievement system where certain goals can be completed by doing some tasks. Thus, the player can gain a multiplicative bonus the next time he/she runs through the game. Lastly, the coins collected while running through the temple can be used to purchase certain bonuses such as start boost, resurrections, or longer buffs. Pros and Cons
While a game of this setting and simplicity is widely popular, it unfortunately does not have an end. Each individual run of the game ends. It is when the player dies on varying circumstances. However, there is no final victory or happy ending in this game. The player can run through the temple. That is, as long as they want until they are dead but never find an exit. Or even if they reach the Congratulations screen because it simply does not exist. In some ways this is intended. Why? Because it creates a competition to find who can run the farthest distance without dying. Nevertheless, in other ways it creates a feeling of frustration due to the fact that it can never end.
